CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Hello

Hello I’m new here and not really sure what to do or how to post so I hope this works.
I’m into all us coins and errors. I’m new to finding the errors myself in bank rolls and in my change. I’ll try and post the first error I ever found 2 years ago not entirely sure what it is but fun to find with my 8 year old son. I hope I can figure out how and where to post my questions I have several coins I need some help with.

      Welcome aboard.
The best place to post about errors is in the Error forum , or the General forum.

A suggestion - One coin per post. name the post the year and denomination and an idea of what the coin is about (ie; 1992 Quarter die break?)

In my opinion, the quarter looks like the start of a die crack, just south of the eye. I am not sure what that circle is, and it is concerning. But for most coins, die cracks don't typically bring a lot of extra value. The working dies fail eventually. Typically Washington Quarter working dies last about 350,000 strikes or so. Then they are replaced at the end of their service life.
