CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Hello everyone. I am truly a new collector. I inherited lots of coins from my dad and father-in-law, I am investigative by nature and have immersed myself for the last 4 months in coins, coin history and the different types of errors. I recently discovered an odd penny which I have submitted for review in the Forum. It appears to have a colon after the word "In". I took it to a local certified coin appraiser and he suggested I join CONECA and submit for opinion. I am still eagerly awaiting the outcome of opinions. I have attached pictures for your enjoyment. Happy treasure hunting!

Not sure, they have ask me to perform a Q tip test for movement, there was none. Still awaiting their opinion. Exciting, no doubt.

I'm thinking they wanted to see if they moved in order to ascertain weather it was bubbling or not.

Correct. Yesterday, I was asked to send in so they could examine it using their tools.
