CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Hello, everyone! My name is Denise, and I am excited to be here. I am a returning member of Coneca. I was introduced to Coneca through Ken Potter himself. I must say, he is a great guy. He showed a lot of patience with me as he took his time examining my coins. He once told me that if I keep searching those coin rolls, one day I will find some real errors and possibly some varieties. I smile whenever I think about what he said to me. Well, I am hoping that I have done just that. I started coin hunting back in 2018 after watching a couple of YouTube videos. After that, I got hooked! I look forward to speaking with the Coneca team about my coins.

    Welcome aboard.
There are a decent amount of members here to answer your coin related questions.

As time goes on, the older coinage will be less available and the newer coinage will take over. Since 1996, varieties have changed, rpm's are extinct, doubled dies are limited and the quality assurance and control at the mint since 2003 is not allowing errors escape the mint.

There is a haven available in European coins though. A lot of world coins are still available, chuck full of errors and varieties.

Rolls of any type in the USA can produce a few decent finds. Its a relatively cheap way at achance to find something special at face value of the coin.

It's all about patience, luck and timing. It's like a small lottery. One never knows what the next coin will be. There will be plenty of disappointments, with an occasional surprise every once in a while.

    Happy Hunting.
