CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • I'm New

i would like to say hi to everyone. im new ive been collecting coins for more than 10 years. i don't understand the varieties and im trying to learn about them.
i've just started (well within the last year) looking at coins on a elikliv camera. i also have been using a set of loops made like glasses. it's been a interesting year to say the least. i didn't catch how neat looking through bags and bags of coins was. the thrill of the hunt is better than just buying them and looking at them.. so everyone can say i'm really a newbie at the hunt and what they varieties are. i did print off the application for a paid membership so hopefully they will get it in a week or so.. so as of right this minute i'm not a paid member yet. so i will end this post right here so i dont bore anyone. fill free to look up my kennedy collection on the ngc web site i think my rank is 37 i love my Franklins and Kennedy'salso thanks for having me.

    Welcome aboard.
One great place to look at varieties is at
    http://varietyvista.com

There were quite a few Kennedy Halves with varieties.
Plenty of rpm's and doubled dies can be found just from Kennedy's.

I like them as well, and have a handful of errors including a proof bicentennial Kennedy struck on a 1 piso Phillipines planchet (9.75g). I also have a 1964 Kennedy with an obverse deep die cap. They are super.

    Happy hunting.
