CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1943 steel penny with planchette error

Image-1.jpeg Image-1.jpeg Hello , wanted to know if this was an error on the planchette on this 1943 steel penny. It looks like it has a #1 by Lincoln’s face on the back ground? And also it has some gold lettering by his forehead and the word liberty

  • #2
In my opinion, the only thing I see is a scrape or circulation damage that goes from the last T in TRUST to the 1 in the date. The forehead looks normal, with some additional verdigris or stain from some type of substance.

I don't see anything significant on this coin.
