Welcome aboard.
There are some good members here to answer your coin related questions.
Over the years I have noticed there are a lot of coins struck in Europe that are readily available, even back as far as the 17th century and before. Doubled dies and over dates are popular.
US Mint quality assurance and quality control has been pretty strict since 2003. The major US Mint Errors have not escaped in mass since 2003. It's slim pickings, that's for sure.
The re-punched mint marks (D/D and S/S) were eliminated when the US Minr added the mint mark to the master hub. That means there hasn't been an RPM since 1989.
Searching for errors and varieties is like a small lottery. One never knows what the next coin in that roll will be.
Happy hunting.Gary Kozera
