CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    Intro

    Hi, I'm Rick.

I'm from northeastern Maryland and have always been interested in US coinage since my grandmother first exposed me to old coins. She gave me a handful of old Indian head pennies which I still have to this day more than 50 years later.

I enjoy finding old coins & trinkets metal detecting.

I am here as a non-paying member (at the moment (too many expensive hobbies!) to continue my education.

I look forward to sharing my most recent discovery (found in change while working in retail) here shortly. I'm still trying to identify if it is an actual find or just a conversation piece...

    Thank you,

    Rick

    Welcome aboard.
Some of the Indian head cents can have repunched dates, doubled dies, mis-placed dates and other varieties.
