Hi all. My name is Evanz and I am new to this Forum. I have not filled out my membership yet and pay my fees because I just joined today. I am hoping to get it done after our vacation. My kids and I just started this coin collection hobby. My initial goal was for them check out new things besides being on their tablet. We got hooked in this coin collection. We just started just last month and went to our jar of coins for them to fill their coin albums and look for error coins. We have found some but of course we are new to this so I will need your help. Any recommended resource for us to study and read?

In my opinion, THE #1 book is "The error coin encyclopedia" by Arnold Margolis. The book describes the minting process, and one can learn to debunk what are errors and what is PMD or post mint damage - a coin which has damage to it after it left the mint.
That book is getting scarce. If you are able to find one that can fit in your budget range, you may want to grab it.
Here is a link. You might be able to find one cheaper....

At the main page of this forum, at the bottom is a forum loaded with websites that are coin related.
You may want to book mark a few that you may be able to use.
I recommend the following
