CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Hello, I've been a member for about a year but have somehow never made it to this thread. I'm mostly a copper guy (the smaller ones) but through lack of common sense I also stray into Nickels, Dimes and Halves. I also like to collect the common coinage from certain years. I got started on this by building around the target date from when I was a little kid, 1909. As a six year old, I hadn't a clue that pocket change came in any other form than adorned by dead presidents. Luckily I had grandparents and great-grandparents to set me straight.

I tend to do more lurking than posting. If I can help somebody by answering a question a correct answer, I surely will. If I only "think" I know the answer, I'll either find out for sure or keep my mouth shut. That's just me.

Thanks to all you folks out there that know more than I do and are willing to share your research and wisdom. Hope I can contribute as well

Welcome aboard. There are some good folks in this forum to answer any coin related questions you may have.

There are plenty of questions in these forum walls that beg to be answered, so feel free to fire away an answer, suggestion, reference or other helpful info.

I too enjoy small copper mainly focusing on Lincoln cents from 1909 to 1977 or so. Majority seem to be from 1938 to 1972 or so. I do the varieties as well.

We hope your stay here is enjoyable and informative.
