CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    Hello CONECA Fourm,
I am a new member and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Heather. I am an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher and new coin enthusiast.

Six years ago I inherited a coin collection from my grandfather and have been working my way through; educating myself, cataloging, and getting TPG on high value coins. I'm in the early-mid 20th century now where I've come across notes listing; Cone numbers, RPM numbers, lamination errors, off strikes, and clips-which leads me here.
I look forward to learning more with the help of the fourm and website!

    welcome.

neat stuff there. i always like buying collections with items like these as well as finding them myself in the wild.

there are items pictured that imo aren't very valuable and perhaps you'd consider keeping a few in their original holders, providing there doesn't appear to be any corrosion/pvc growing and then you can hand down some of them as-is?

Thanks Occumis...I understand these errors are more fun picking and finding than value. All of the good Early American coins were sent to TPGs. I did find an overdate that I was proud of..posting a pic below....I am working on a patch of coins that were put into flips with no notes and no key dates. I feel they were important enough not to leave in the tubes or bags with others and was possibly intentional for me to uncover and research the error or they were coins he was working on. Regardless it worked and I'm hooked. It's super fun!

        gratz on the variety find.

you are even MORE fortunate to get a SLH that was a variety and straight-graded AND a decent grade.

        must be a neat collection.
