CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    Hi Everyone,

My name is Darko, yes like Donny Darko, I'm new member and somewhat new to coin collecting in the sense of actually looking at the coins and getting them graded, still learning what is worth sending to get graded and what is not. So far, I have done my own research, lots of information everywhere. I have gone to coin shops to try to get more information on coin errors and I have found many of these experts I have met kind of don't want to be bothered or have no interest in error coins. I came across Coneca through YouTube, was just looking at information in regard to having error coins looked at. I am extremely interested in error coins and find myself looking at change and going through coins I have collected through the years. Happy to be here and looking to grow my knowledge on error coins.

    Welcome aboard.

This is a decent errors and variety forum.
Although major errors are difficult to find in pocket change and rolls - There may be a Re-punched mint mark as a possibility if the US coin is dated 1989 or before. The doubled die variety may be out there as well, but so are machine damaged/ machine doubling aka a lot of worthless doubling.

    Happy Hunting
