My name is Denver, and I'm just now getting around to my introductory post, though I have been a member for a few months now. I'm very excited to join CONECA and be part of a community that shares my growing passion for error coins and rare varieties. I've been collecting coins for years—primarily older copper issues like Large and Half Cents (including colonials and private strikings), Flying Eagle and Indian Head Cents, and more recently, Matte Proof Lincoln Cents. While I don’t focus exclusively on errors or varieties, I always welcome them when I come across them and am eager to deepen my understanding so I don’t miss anything important along the way.
Right now, I’m especially interested in improving my coin photography. Capturing fine details like die markers and varietal features has proven to be a real challenge—more of an art than a science—and I’d love to learn from those here who’ve mastered it.
I tend to cherrypick most of my finds, which has become one of my favorite parts of the hobby. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of discovering something overlooked and snagging it at a price I can afford. With a sharp eye and endless curiosity—especially for history and economics—I feel like I’ve finally found my niche. Long-term, I hope to turn this passion into a business and eventually employ myself doing what I love.
Thanks for having me here—I look forward to learning, contributing, and getting to know you all.
