- Hello,
My name is Chris Koestner and I am a new to this site. I sent a question to Dr. Wiles about an attribution of a coin I had. He suggested that I come here and see if anyone here can help me. If you think I should get it attributed, then he will set up an appointment with me to do so. The coin I am asking about is a 2009 P Professional Life Lincoln Cent with die clashes on the neck and in front of the face. I am going to try and attach photos. If anyone knows if this has been attributed anywhere please let me know. I did find a number at maddieclashes.com. It was ADC-1C-2009 (PL)-01. I am thinking of getting it graded. I cannot find a variety on PCGS or NGC. Thank you for any help you can give me. Chris

In my opinion, Clashes are a type of error and they get "examined".
I agree, it appears to be a clash. On the CONECA forum, the staff frown on talking about raw grades of coins and a potential value, so I will avoid them if I can.
Its up to the coin owner to decide if they want to send it in for attribution/examination. They have to assume the risk, time and costs involved in doing so.
Then one has to decide whether to get it "slabbed' or encpasulated to keep it. BUT this costs quite a bit of cash. The cheapest being ANACS.com and close to 60 bucks.

Additionally, you can visit
At the main page, there is a search box. You can put your coin year in there to see if it has been discoveredcand documented already.
If not, use their contact us form and ask if they want to see some photos. If it is not listed already, maybe they will list it and give you credit.

In my opinion, it is best to start your own post or it becomes buried.
I have several posts saved in my signature block that should be able to help.
Just go to the posts below, read them and let the forum know if you have any other questions.

In my opinion:
You should always start your own post. Otherwise it get buried and no one will respond. It also cuts down on confusion.
The Coneca Forum rules frown on giving prices on raw coins. The best idea i have to offer is get a general grading yourself. Look on your favorite search engine and search for
ANA grading standards
Your looking for the website money.org
There are several online publications and a few in print that offer prices on normal everyday coins. Price lists for errors and varieties are rather scarce.
Grading is subjective, so its best done by a room of ANA certified graders at a third party grading site.
