CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    New to Coneca

    Hello everyone
Yamhillgirl here. I’m fairly new to coin collecting. Came across some error coins. I’ve been a member for a while but had some difficulty getting to this point. I guess I’ve got it all straightened out because I’m able to post. I am excited to post to the forum and see what they are about.

    Welcome aboard.
I have some posts in my signature block that you might find beneficial.

In my opinion, the hardest steps are ensuring the posts are less than 2mb each.
If your on a pc, its pretty easy. You can save space by making sure you remove most of the non coin background, allowing the coin to take center stage.

On a cell phone or tablet you should be able to edit photos by cropping them as well. Most photo apps allow this. Its like taking a box and making smaller focusing on the coin.

In my opinion, you can submit up to 8 photos per post. More, if you reply to your own post. If you are posting under the CONECA SERVICES forums, then its important to add as much text and photos about the coin as you can. Good clear photos are important as well as what you are seeing that is wrong with the coin.

I always recommend that people include a full obverse and reverse of the coin as well.

In the regular Forum area it is good practice to do the same

I have some helpful tips from some of my posts here. They are in my signature block that help folks master this forum quicker.
