    "Reverse Speared Pennies"

I'm new at this with the help of Mr Motley to get me set up Thank-You! So I have 2 1979 D pennies that have a "speare" on the reverse in the memoral (from the 3rd piller to the 6th piller), I cannot see anything like this on ebay & I have 2 of them. I stopped by my local coin shop & the owner told me that they were "die gouges",I took several pictures and transfered the best 3 images. So I'm wondering are these worth sending the coins out to Coneca so they can be examined in person or is this something that is common and not worth the effort? Any help would be appreciated...Dennis.

In my opinion, the photos are too far away to make out what this is. We would need closer photos, but photos that are clear and free of any glare.

I do have a post listed in my signature block that help with photos of coins from a cell phone. It is also important to crop or cut out as much non-coin background as possible. The holders might cause photos to become unfocused. Its best to take photos of coins outside the holders if possible.

I do not believe you can send items directly to CONECA. I believe the process is, you add a post in the appropriate CONECA SERVICES forum. Errors should go under the EXAMINATIONS area. Should CONECA want to see it in hand, they would let you know, and provide info on how to proceed.
