CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    Hello everyone

Hello all my name is Steve.
Thank you for the add much appreciated. I am not a paying member yet I will be soon. I was also wanting to join money.org the American numismatic association. I collect Coins, cards, stamps, gold, silver, all sorts of antiques. My experience with errors and die variation is about 6 years. I enjoy coin roll hunting and buying changed from friends and family who have piles of it saved up.
I have watch many movies and videos, like how dies are made and the whole minting process. I own many coin books and mags. Strick it rich, the official red book and the cherry pickers guide are a couple. I also metal detector and chase history. I Like learning about local ship wrecks and old trails in my area. I live in the Great Lake area so there is plenty of history to learn. As I have gotten older learning and staying sharp has become a priority for me. I will post my first coin sometime this evening. It’s the 1982 P zinc penny. I’m not sure which variety it is or if it is. It could be die deterioration LDS.

Welcome aboard the US Mint does a lot of videos of how they make coins, I suspect most are from the current single squeeze era.

There are a lot of decent references out there. I like the Arnold Margolis books, the error coin encyclopedia. It is dated and reveals how coins were made prior to 1989.

Lincoln Cent varieties can be found at:

    Happy hunting
