CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    Hello from Georgia

Hi! I'm Amy. I'm new to CONECA (not a member... yet). I've been collecting coins off and on since childhood. And in my work in my Etsy shop, I deal with a couple thousand coins a year. Never really looked for error coins much except for an attempt about 10 years ago. Now I'm back into it again with my Dad.

This past year while working with 2015-P BU dime rolls, I ran across quite a few very odd dimes that looked smeared and garbled with parts of word and numbers missing. I set them aside and have finally gotten more than my jeweler's loupe to examine them. I've been told by several sources it's major die deterioration and/or a strike through grease. So now the bug has bitten me again.
