CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    Hi Folks,

Started collecting coins during my paper-route days many decades ago. One older lady was paying me with these really old coins. Showed them to my older brother and he told me to just collect them - don't spend them - and go offer the lady $ for the collection. She was having no part of it and never paid me with another old coin after that (probably raiding her hubby's collection for cash)!

Been member of CONECA for years, but new to the Forum. Not a specific type of collector... I have many different kinds, mostly US coins.

Enjoy the Errorscope articles and information. Have already matched many coins to variety vista over the years.

Debating on the worthiness of certification. Due to age, need to start reducing my inventory since my kids want no part of this, so I may start submitting some for examination/attribution first.

Wondering what folks are doing with the thousands of low-grade IH or Lincoln cents that no collector is interested in, now that cents are going away..?

    Best of luck to all,

    Mike
