CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Introduction

    Hello! My name is Elisabeth and I’m completely new to coins and collecting. I’ve always loved coins but just started collecting a few days ago. While searching online, I realized that there is a whole world of coin errors out there, and I want to become more familiar with it all. I am not a paying member of this group but plan to become one if it proves helpful. I have had so much fun searching coins so far, but I have so many questions and need help! I came across a few wheat pennies that look like they have errors and I need help detecting if they truly are, in fact, errors. I hope to continue searching for error coins and posting here for help. I’m so thankful for this group!!
