CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    Hello Everyone!

I'm quite excited to become a member of CONECA - I believe I am a paying member (I sent in the $25 late on Friday) but the actual membership will (hopefully!) be formalized tomorrow. I'm 20 years old, quite passionate about coins, but still very much in a learning phase. I really enjoy discovering more info about errors and varieties, and while I haven't found many, I did once pick out a 1936 DDO FS-102 Lincoln Cent that is now in a VF30 holder.

I worked in a coin dealership for five summers and now am a college student, so while I am not extremely active on the buying and selling side due to inventory storage concerns, I spend a lot of my free time involved with coins in a few different manners.

Looking forward to meeting many of you in person in the years to come.

    Best,
    Christian Hartch

Welcome. Wish the little coin shop by me was still around. Been there as long as I can remember Picked them all the time. The old man was awesome and didnt care for varieties or errors but the son was an arrogant pos that thought he knew everything. Soon as the old man passed, the shop took a nose dive and closed within a year. Been closed for around 10 yrs now and its still the same sign and nothing else been in the building since.
