CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • NEW MEMBER- HI EVERYONE!

Hello- My name is Allie and I am a new paying member of Coneca. I am not a seasoned collector but have recently started the last couple of years. I have always been interested in coins.

I have bought a TON of rolls off of Ebay now, and have had some great coins come through, but some of my best have come from spare change and my step father who is a veteran collector. He has help in making my collection very nice in size and variety.

I tend to lean more toward the error U.S. coins in all categories. Specifically like the error penny and nickel coins, but welcome all. I have a nice size collection of wheat & Indian head 1 cent, bison and liberty nickels, along with a handful of 30-50's quarters and a lot of 60-2000 yr quarters. Just to name a few! All for my son when he gets older and hopefully he collects as well. He already likes the coins and likes to help where he can!

I do have a handful of error coins some pretty big and others your typical repeats you always see. I am no expert, and I am very excited to learn and hear from all of you, as well as get your opinions of some of my error coins. Sometimes I never know if I am really seeing the error or if I am "wanting" to see the error with my mind having me do so when looking at some of my bigger error coins.

Look forward to uploading a couple coins I have questions on and talking with you all!
    Allie
