CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Just saying Hello

Hi everyone. My name is Heather. I never really thought of myself as being a coin collector, but that changed. With the death of my father a few months ago I inherited his penny collection. Multiple complete sets from 1909-2021, so I am trying to learn everything I can about the pennies.

    Welcome!

Sorry to hear about the passing of your father.

Did you say; multiple "complete" sets? Nice!! Keep them in the family.

Thanks and yes multiple sets. Now I am going thru the mint marks and sorting them. Everything has labels and in protective coverings. So that has made looking at them pretty easy. Just learning about the mint errors thru the years.

Sounds like your father was organized. Do you have a redbook? If not, it's the number one basic tool a coin collector needs.
