CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

hi! I am Kris and I just jumped head first into the world of coin collecting and coin roll hunting. I do not believe I am gonna be the lucky one to find some really valuable erfror voin lol. but i do enjoy the hunt, the research, the history, the conversations with those who are more knowledgeable and experienced than I and Oh, did I already say the hunt? I first jumped on Coin Talk seeking better clarification of different things I was reading about concening the minting processes, definitions and attributes of error and variety coins. Well established members there directed me here. So know that if i post a question on here it is not to verify whether I have found a key date or not. It is because I see something I dont understand and I look to the more knowledgeable people to help me come to a better understanding of what I am seeing in front of me. I guess if I had a wish, it would be to find a discovery coin or another variety so to speak, even if it didnt change the value of the coin one bit. ( I still get excited finding a ;69 - ;72 floating roof! Thanks for your patience with me as I travel through the vast amount of error/variety information out there

    Welcome aboard !

I will add that I think your nickname here will undoubtably show your analytics skills in due time.
Painting is a fine art, meticulous, slow and refined. Patience is virtue there. Same with finding a variety.

You'd be surprised what you may be able to find at the Raleigh Coin show in June?
At the NC state fair grounds if it is still being done there. Just a thought.

A book that I find a good source of information on Errors - more than varieties is:

The 2nd (or higher) Edition of :
The Error Coin Encyclopedia by Arnold Margolis.

Its a well written book with a tour of how the mint was, back in the day, followed by detailed explanations how coins are made and what can go wrong, error wise.

Feel free to post, show photos and tell us what you see. It helps out immensely when people help us, help them.

Welcome painter, you never know what you’re going to find next Crh and there’s no warning when you’re about to find something great. I’ve somewhat recently got back into hunting rolls after taking a break for a couple years. A couple boxes ago I finally got my first 99 wam cent not a big money coin but it does have value and Ive always wanted to find one. I also just found a nice big die crack going from the rim through the date on a 2019-p cent.

yes, absolutely.... its almost like a lottery. For Lincoln Cents you have 50 chances to pull out a winner. It doesn't matter what type of roll you search, but bigger bucks are in BU rolls, and selecting the years/mintmarks on any denomination may aid in your chances !
