CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Hi there. I am Robert and I have been collecting for years off and on. My father passed down coins to me as a child and told me about them. I found myself drawn to nickels but have moved up to just about everything. I once thought I had a 1974D lead penny and sent it to PCGS for grading. It came back as fake. Live and learn I say. I am 1 coin off of completing my mercury dime set and I am sure everyone can guess what year and mint mark it is. Hope to learn from you all.

Good story. The 16D is rather a difficult one to obtain, people are pretty rabid on a coin of that year mm if it is good or better. I have seen quite a few, but less than a handful in really good shape.

There are many good people in here willing to assist.

    Welcome aboard. !
