CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Introduction

I am new to the hobby world of coin collecting but I am fast becoming addicted. I have had (or still have) numerous other hobbies in the past but numismatics is clearly a different sort of beast altogether, I believe it's fair to say that it is not "a hobby", but rather "thee hobby". I am not yet a CONECA member as I just discovered this website, but I have every intention of signing up to become one this week sometime. I found my way here because I have some interesting error coins, as well as several potential well known variety coins, that I was either curious to learn a little more about, or that I wanted to get some feedback on prior to me potentially submitting them for grading. I look forward to learning more from everyone here.
