CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Hello members new to the forum looking forward to a new hobby! Not experienced with error coins as of yet but am embarking on a new chapter after retirement. Hoping to learn as much as possible!

    Welcome aboard. Plenty of good folks here to help you on your way. Many US minted coins in the way of errors have not escaped the mint after 2003. There may be a few out there, but it is needle in a hackstack time.

    We look forward to you participating in the forum, and hope we get to see some of your finds.

    As for retirement, congrats. I am close to doing the same.
