CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    NEW MEMBER

    Allow me to introduce myself...I consider myself a newbie of numismatics and a student of new things...I have been saving pocket change for at least the past five years or so. Now I use a debit card and find myself not having pocket change to mention. Well now I have all these coins I'm sorting through...I've heard some coins are worth more than face value but you need to know what your looking for...I started watching You Tube and I'm here because I need good direction...I believe this is a hobby I will enjoy...I look forward to your insight.

    Welcome aboard. It depends how deep you want to dive into the world of coins, especially errors and varieties. There are plenty of people here to help, but input from the poster is critical, and so is doing some of the heavier lifting. We can point you in the right direction, and offer some things to read.

    Let us know if you are into either errors or varieties...or both.
