CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Hello!

Hello everyone, I'm pretty new to coin collecting but cant wait to learn more!
Hoping to be able to learn to understand the nuanced differences in errors and hopefully discover a new one at some point.
    Cheers!

    Welcome aboard.
Best way to start your adventure is to understand the minting process. That may clear up some commonly asked questions.

This book is very good, in my opinion. I bought mine from Fred Weinberg years ago, and I always keep it handy.

You might be able to find it cheaper, even in hard cover. They are getting hard to find, in my humble opinion.

There are plenty of good folks here to answer any coin related question, but remember, ask Google and see if it can answer it first. We like to help people who help themselves and in due time you will be able to help others as well.
