CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

I've been collecting for years, but only recently heard of CONECA. I started collecting a little bit as a kid, and by the time I was done with high school, had a decent collection, but nothing serious. The oldest coins I had were all Barber series except a single two and three cent piece, maybe less than 100 coins total other than a collection of state quarters I was building as they were coming out. After high school, I moved out and really fell out of collecting, it just wasn't a priority while I was young and broke. Finally got back into it in 2017, and have been extremely serious ever since!

I stack bullion and collect all sorts of coins. I've kinda hit a wall with US coins in that all of my sets are either complete or lack key dates in the hundreds or even thousands of dollars, so I've recently got into ancients and medievals. I still try to upgrade my 7070 when I can, and try to pick up one missing key date every month. Perhaps my most prized piece is the 1829 Curl Base 2 that I discovered the 41st example of that ended up in Coin World a few years back! I managed to cherry pick that one out of a bulk lot! It's in rough shape and not even the most valuable coin I own, but is certainly the most irreplaceable!

This is my first attempt at using CONECA services, and I'm not sure if I'm going about it right. About a month ago, I posted a Barber dime that I had some questions about in the Attribution section, but I haven't seen any responses on that yet. Did I skip a step somewhere or post in the wrong section? Thanks for any help and I look forward to getting to know you guys!

    Chris

    Welcome aboard. Great story.

I suggest going through the members section and looking through the J's and finding Jamez . Let him know that a coin is stuck in the services area and he may be able to assist. There will be a black looking thought cloud in his profile, You can click on it and send him a private message.

I have done just that. Thanks for the help! I'm just starting off and still trying to learn how this all works, so I appreciate the willingness to point me in the right direction!
