CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    2011P DDR Mississippi Vicksburg Quarter

Im new. My local coin guy recommended i reach out to Coneca for attribution. I found this doubled die, I'm shocked that i cannot find that it has been discovered yet. The "11" on 2011 has clear doubling under the scope, and it's not worthless doubling. How may I send Pictures to confirm the obvious doubling for attribution?

    • Go to the main forum page.
    • Go to CONECA SERVICES
    • Go to ATTRIBUTIONS
    • Post in the Attributions area.
    • To the bottom left of the post is the UPLOAD ATTACHMENTS button.
    • CROP the photos, but show the full obverse and reverse of each. More coin less background.
    • Additional photos of the area in question help people determine what the coin could be.
    • ENSURE photos are clear and focused as blurry photos are useless.
    • Keep photos smaller than 2Mb each, you should be able to post a max of 7 or 8 photos per post, more on each reply.

    In my opinion;
    • A few things wrong with this.
    • Mississippi State Quarters were struck in 2002.
    • There is an America the Beautiful coin from 2011 in which ZERO doubled dies have been documented.
    • Any variety that requires more than 10x power to see it may be considered too minor to list, as it it microscopic in nature.
    • In this Hobby there are more coins that are worth face value only, than finding a bell ringing variety or errors. Expect to be disappointed more than excited.

By the way you word your post, and as new as you are, my opinions with decades of experience may not matter.

I help people who are open to opinions and logical explanations.

There are literally hundreds of millions of worthless doubling out there, especially on the incused quarters.

In my opinion, it's incused mechanical worthless doubling without even seeing any photos.

It will take more time to get the clarity under 2 mb that you guys request, but here are the two ones that make the "11". Rhis is why I say its obvious: )

There is an 11 on top of the 11. I've been disappointed a few times in my searches. So I hear you. But this die had two 11's stacked. The 1 to the left on the 11 is tilted more than the 1 on the right. The doubling on the right 1 is a tad more exposed. The doubled eleven is tilted counter clockwise. Am I still wrong? If there was a serif it would be doubled and split, but the design is rounded and it shows. No?
