CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    New member from Canada

Hello all. My name is Rob and I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. For those that don't know, that is 2 hours north of Seattle.

I have always collected coins but about 10 years ago I really started to focus on Canadian errors. I was always interested in errors ever since my Uncle gave me a clipped penny that he found in his change back in 1978. I love clips, off metals, off center, split planchets...OK i like them all! Lol.

I really like those Israel aluminum wrong planchets. Pretty cool how light they are. I remember seeing you on other forums as well. Maybe the coin community forum?

Welcome aboard. I too like the error oddities. Although sifting through rolled coinage is fine for some, Iwould rather find or purchase some major errors at a decent price. I have a handful of wrong planchet errors from Great Britian, a few from India and a couple of odd ones as well. Good luck in your hunt for those oddities.
