New Member being referred from the Variety Vista website

By default I got into coin collecting as a metal detectorist. I'm joining the forum in order to help with my addiction, as in "Make it worse"... LOL I've evolved into the area of DDRs, DDOs, etc. which I find very, very interesting. Still learning the terminology required to converse sensibly with the fine folks here. Currently I do not have a membership in CONECA but just learned about it this morning too. I plan to join but until I should post said plan treat me as a fledgling. My neatest find to date is the 2009-D 25c DC DDR-001 quarter in a bank coin roll. Interesting after you realize what you've found, you just want to stare at it under the coin scope. I haven't submitted it to PCGS yet but probably will in the future. I'm not interested in bragging, just learning what interesting coin varieties are out there. Thanks!!!

Welcome Shinbone. I am not into varieties much....except the "big ones" but I am sure you can learn much here. I personally collect errors but varieties are pretty neat too.

I did and the Duke Ellington quarter error is without doubt the neatest coin in my collection, so far LOL. Below is a rough picture utilizing both my coin scope and iPhone. The coin flip adds a lot of glare to the picture for sure.
