CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    New Guy in Omaha NE

    Hi all,
I'm Pete and happy to join you all and benefit from your wisdom and experience. I have retired and have rediscovered our family coin collection and I'm cherry picking for the first time. Lots of questions and oddities to post. A lot of time on my hands at the moment as I care for my parents here in Nebraska for a while.
I'm looking forward to hanging around! Can anyone point me to the portion of the forum that gives suggestions on grading US coins?
    Thanks! P

Grading coins is frowned upon in this forum. That is in the CONECA forum rules. Best I can offer is trying a search on Google, something like.... grading indian head cents, or Ana grading standards for mercury dimes.... something is bound to show that will assist.

Thank you Gary. Allow me to rephrase that question. I'm interested in assistance in authenticating a coin. Can you suggest a board where I can post a question? It relates to a Mercury Dime with a full reverse but blank planchet on the obverse.
      Thanks.

Post it in the mint error forum, I would like to see it.

if you are looking for coin grading opinions, the folks at the NGCcoin.com (resources tab/chat boards) are good for to the point answers.
