CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    Introduction - Newbie

    Hello,

My name is Ronnie Sparks. After meany years of collecting coins here and there I have finally reached a point where I want to spend more time in the industry. I have mailed my membership application off and payment. I saved and began a website to sell my coins and showcase the errors I have found with my magnification device. I plan to start a YouTube Channel as well. I hope to hone my skills in attribution and really focusing in on the differences between machine doubling and a true double-die on a coin. Anyhow, introduce yourself as well and hopefully we can create a lasting friendship.

    God's Blessings,

    Ronnie

Hi Ronnie......Thanks for joining CONECA and our Forum. Hope to see some of your varieties posted on here. I think what you mean regarding understanding machine doubling, isn't comparing the difference to a "true second strike" but to a true double die. A double strike and a double die are completely different occurences. Anyway, welcome aboard!!!
