CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

I'm Coinrabbit1979 and happy to be a member. Thanks to James for having patience with me on registration issues. I'm retired and enjoy the error research of US coins. It appeals to my attention to detail. I'm still learning everything from posting to picture taking. I have found two wounded eagles. I think I find errors, but I go back and review and usually it turns out not to be. My biggest challenge is telling the difference between true doubling and machine doubling. I'm looking forward to being a part of these forums. Thanks!!!

    Welcome aboard.

There are some good folks here to help answer coin related questions. As for researching machine doubling vs a doubled die or an RPM, John Wexler's website

Die varieties such as doubled dies, Repunched mint marks (RPMs), Over Mint Marks (OMMs), Repunched Dates, Overdates, coin design varieties, as well as regular coins and error coins.

has some great educational pieces. From worthless doubling to actual doubled die process, John did a masterful job and educated many people.

I have a few educational writeups on the subject as well. They are within my signature below.
