CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Introducing myself, not yet a paid member, still new, there is so much to learn! New varities all the time it's awesome! I didn't get into coin collecting until a friend told me all about error coins, and that is what hooked me, as I am an artist, did graphic design, paint, have a jewelry business, rock hound, 20/20 still at 39 lol I feel like my collection is unique, love the abstract art in error, double denomination, woodies, rainbow toning, and finding crazy strike through patterning. I could definitely use advice and value, tips, I love to learn, been at this for months tell my kids I'm doing my homework♡

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you lead an active lifestyle, and you are busy. Plenty of decent folk here to answer your coin questions. The coin collecting hobby allows me to relax, it also gives me a chance at finding something decent, sometimes at little cost what so ever.

As the US Mint has tightened down the release of major errors since 2003, there are a few minor ones that continue to escape the Mint. Strike through can be pretty dramatic, and can still be pulled out of rolls from 1950s through the 1970s. Same with lamination errors.

    Happy hunting.
