CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Introduce myself

    Hi everyone,
    My name is Ross Huber,
I’m a retired Brick Mason that enjoyed collecting error coins from local coin stores and early eBay.
I have a few coins I like to share and get pointed in the right direction for Certification and Grading.
    This is my 1891/1891 Indian.
    Thanks for having me.

Hello Ross! Awesome Indian. There are several grading services out there but they can be a little pricey. The services will charge for postage/insurance, variety attribution and grading. Please check on the value of anything submitted to weigh the cost/benefit. Although sometimes that isn't important to the submitter. If you haven't already done so, please post more pics in the appropriate section of the forum

Hi, My name is Ilona, I am new and I am kind of confused ... I joined Coneca with the impression that I could find out what type of error my coin has by sending photos since I have been through so many websites and cannot see the error that I believe I have on my coin of 1982 penny 3.1 g with a bunch of fibers and the letters looks weird too. I even put a video on YouTube. What should I do? Thanks, http://youtu.be/NMaPXOvC3lw

Hello. Glad to have the opportunity to learn and share amongst all of you in the forums. I am new to the CONECA forums. I am not a member, yet. I do and have held an interest in error and varieties of coins. Long ago found my first missing clad Connecticut State quarter. Since have inspected nearly every coin and currency my hands have come across for the details that most miss in the circulation. Always enjoyed it. Bought my 1934 quarter DDO back in the early ebay days to boister my collection and keep my mind to stay watchful for the unique and fancy.
Collecting for over 14 years by acquisition, buy outs, finds and selective bidding.
Look forward to involving my interest and expanding my knowledge in such an array of forums.
        Take care everyone

Welcome IIona, first you will need to create your own post with a topic then upload your photos of one coin per post, I assure you the specialist here are well suited to answer any coin curiosities, as well there are plenty of volunteers such as myself to take a crack at it.
