CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Hello folks. I'm Rick. I'm not a paying member. I have been collecting coins for 35+ yrs. Nearly had a complete set of 20th century US coins until my focus changed. Now I enjoy sifting through coins looking for errors. This really kicke in my wife and kids gave me a laptop connectable microscope. Then it was game on... Anyway, thanks to YouTube,Variety Vista and others, I have been able to better educate myself on errors. Mechanical vs real doubling is still tough to recognize.

I've got a couple things to post that I hope the smart people in this forum can help me diagnose.

Welcome to the Forum Rick. Sounds like you are really into varieties. If you haven't already, please post some of your finds.
