CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

I would like to say thanks to all those who make sites like this possible and all of the users that keep it going and help to bring newbies like myself into something new. I have been researching and collecting only for about a year and am still very novice in most areas. My passion is error and variety collection and hope to one day be able to spend a little more time with my kids while being able to make it a profitable habit and something to pass down. My oldest of 5 sons was in an almost certain fatal accident a year ago this past June 8th. The day before his 16th birthay and a week and a half before my wife was scheduled to be induced to introduce our 5th son. I spent the last 10 years trying to build my flooring installation business and was on my 7th LA Fitness when my life changed. He was the only passenger in a car driven by his friend who offered him a ride to school. The 17 year old driver with no license and who was still up and drunk from the night before lost control at 120mph. Long story short my son was pronounced DOA after being flown by helicopter 45 minutes away to Strong Hospital Rochester. There we were offered with a few new drugs and operations that have shown to work in overseas hospitals on people with such a horrific skull and brain crush. He is alive, and during the time I sat in the hospital I felt myself staring at change I had on a little table and remembered seeing videos of people finding rare and valuable coins in there pockets. And since I work like I’m have no choice I would have never taken the time to look. So this passion of collecting is far deeper than that of others and holds a special meaning. Thanks for everyone’s time and look forward to learning and meeting new people
