CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    HI Everyone, new member introduction.
As a child/teenager (born 1955) I was given a few foreign and US coins nothing special kept them all my life, never rely paid attention to them. No Not gonna be a wow story about what I had kept , just for background. Moving forward to three years ago, I am a retired Police Detective Lieutenant and help my wife's boss, an attorney, with some investigative tasks. He asked me to help him find the value of several pre 1933 US gold coins. That was the start of my new found hobby. Since then I have invested more time than my wife appreciates and have acquired for a beginner a modest little collection. My focus is on pennies and 1/2 dollar and dollar us silver, recently I bought a couple of large us currency. I love searching for error coins and usually go through one or two $25.00 penny boxes a month. Have not and don't expect to find the big one but have had a lot of fun, learned a lot and had some minor successes. This is why I joined I wanted help in attribution of some pennies; especially with the 1972 Lincoln cent DDOs.
Thanks for reading this, I will explore the site to find how to submit when I get a few minutes , have a great new year everyone, Tom

    Welcome aboard.
There are some good folks here to help with coin questions.

As far as photos, they should be jpg since they can be large, but small in in size.
Just above the text box that is white, to the left, is a camera icon. That toggles on/off the photo upload buttons.
Photos need to be smaller than 2mb each, and 8 photos per reply. You can respond to your own post and add more photos if necessary.
It's best to crop photos to remove any unnecessary background. This allows us to focus on the coin.
Photos with little or no glare.
Photos orientated at 90 degree angles allows us to download and look at them at different angles in order to give better opinions.

    Happy hunting.
