What do you mean ?
it's your coin, you can do just about anything you want to with it, as long as it's legal and doesn't hurt anyone.

Ummm if it isscratched, typically the third party grading companies give it a details grade, or not grade it at all.
CONECA frowns on providing RAW grading questio s, and they frown on us talking value.
I can suggest you go to PCGS a third party grading service which will show prices on coins. This is acirculated piece. So i would concentrate on prices that have an "F" in them.
Here is a link to a web site with prices.

if it had an S mint mark, it wold have been a good find.Typically, the 1909s can get a Hamilton for one that is in decent, circulated shape.
If you decide to send it in, just think of the coats and potential return on investment....

it is beyond common but still pretty popular for album collectors. a basic ebay result for 09 vdb (NOT S) as mentioned will tell ya a ballpark of value and that may help you determine what you want to do with it.
