have a question on 1982 small date and large date 1982 small date the tops of all numerals appear to be aligned and the bottoms of the 1-8 and 2 will also appear to be aligned is this correct ? if you know this please help

The 2 in the 1982 small date has a curve in the mid part of the 2 and the 2 in the large date has a straight line on the mid part of the 2. If you get the LD and SD you can compare them and you will see.
