    Double Die Variety

    IMG_6202.jpegGood morning,

I’ve come across this quarter from the nineties that looks to have doubling on the phrase “In God We Trust”. I’m still not to familiar with differentiating between double die and machine doubling.

When looking at the coin the words look to be a lot thicker than normal and I’ve tried using my camera to get an up close picture as well.

    Hello Alex,
The planchet was struck by a well used die with die fatigue showing, then also it's a circulated coin with circulation damage.
Sorry it's just a normal coin.
    Eric
