CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

1939 S Key date JN MM error?

I have quite a few images, the only ones you need to really look at are of the actual MM, there is no other doubling (or whatever else) that I see.

What's the value? Have you seen a similar coin? I checked variety vista and there was nothing that looked similar. Worth grading?

    Hello Aj2326.
This is a well circulated 1939-S Jefferson. I'm sorry but I do NOT see an RPM. The mintmark has circulation damage.
Keep up the hunt, there are a few RPM's for this date out there.

CONECA staff frown on two things and I will mention both here. One is value, because the value of a coin can be much different from person to person and within different regions.

The other is offering grades of raw coins. This is subjective. CONECA staff doesnt mind people talking grades of coins which have been authenticated by third party grading service (TPG).

You can find prices of coins on PCGS.com or NGCcoin.com .

I personally don't push people to grade or not to grade. Its a personal decision and risk for the coin owner. IF its value related, you have to weigh in the return on investment if you are thinking of reselling it. It can be for sentimental value or a coin that may be passed down to other family members. The reasons are many.

Although some one MAY offer an opinion on sending a coin in, its best to offer a good photo of the full obverse and reverse of coins. Then additional seasoned collectors if they wish to chime in can determine if they would send it in or look the coin over to see if it have been cleaned or damaged, potentially lowering the overall return on investment.
