  • New 1936-D East Buffalo RPM found - how to distiguish an RPM

    Hello Folks,
I found this one at a show this weekend. I tell folks, don't give up, they are hard to find, but they are out there.
Notice 1) The verticle bar within the primary mintmark. This is Pick Up Point #1
    2) Notice the curve is raised to the field. This is Pick Up Point #2.
Next - is this flat with the edge of a shelf and pull marks behind the edge? No - so it's not MD.

Position: this is what is needed to distinguish between other known RPMs
Position/alignment under the E of Five, and under the tip of the E of Five:

Now look at Variety Vista. Notice the only RPM with the close to same position is RPM005.

Now look at my arrows, notice the upper part of the secondary mintmark is at the top - directly EAST?
Now look at the Variety Vista photo - notice it's loop is farther south? Yes this is a new listing for the 1936-D Buffalo
I checked Wexler also - this variety, at this time, is un reported.

eaxtellcoin Eric, a question. Has CONECA considered using the blog area of the web site for posts like this ? With no comments allowed, these articles could act like a mini Errorscope, allowing visitors to read an article that meant to be educational without any additional comments to confuse the reader, novice to veteran.

Plus these educational articles would not get buried under heaps of regular posts.
