CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

If you are capable of taking photos as specified in the following link, I would be happy to list it and assign an SNV number. There is a fair amount of strike doubling on the coin, which is not unusual.
That's great! I will absolutely take these pictures as requested and email them when they are ready. That might be a day or two until I get the time, but I'll send them over soon. Thank you!

You'll need to send them to my email, not post them here. My email is at the bottom of the page www.shieldnickels.net

Thank you for your impending contribution to SNV.

Apologies for the amount of emails you'll be receiving from me soon. I think I can only send two at a time, and I hope the email doesn't compress them. If they to get compressed, just let me know and I'll get them to you another way. Thank you again!

My computer and email seem to be upset with me. I've tried sending 8 different photos so far but have gotten "undeliverable" responses several times, but apparently they went through after a few attempts. I just wanted to check in with you to make sure you aren't getting inundated with multiple received duplicate images before sending the rest. And I do apologize, I can only send one image at a time at my current resolution. I was mistaken stating I could send two.

Edit: I've now tried (hopefully successfully) to send 10 different pictures, which I feel bad for having to send 10 individual emails. I hope you've gotten them in original format, too. I relabeled them to make it easier on me for tracking them.

I receive batch 1 through 10 except I did not receive #8. Please resend #8.

You are having difficulties sending me images because the files are quite large and running up against some mailer limitation.

So I apparently goofed and #8 was just a duplicate of #7. I was about to resend but noticed similar thumbnails in the "sent" folder so I checked it out. I still have additional pictures to send if you'd like to see them. Not many left at this point, but still several areas where I zoomed in further on what may be additional lathe lines up by the leaf clusters. I may be mistaken (it happens a lot... just ask my wife!) but I figured it might be better for you to have them just to see up closer on them.

Edit: They're all sent. Thank you so much for your help!

For anybody following this, the OP's variety is new and is now catalogued as 1866 S1-3023 in SNV (the 23rd catalogued RPD for 1866).

See above, where I said the doubling on the reverse is in the master hub (and therefore present on every 1866 and not a DDR).
