    1985-D LMC CONECA RPM 008

    Last one for the weekend.

This I think is a 1985-D LMC CONECA RPM 008

VarietyVista does not give any markers on the obverse for this one.
The center of the "D" mintmark offers a clue to what may have been a lesser mint mark and there is a curved line to the Southwest of the primary mint mark.

Only PUP's/markers seen were on the reverse.
I took some photos of those but I was a bit impatient.
I personally think this one is a LDS to VLDS example.

Morning Gary, I looked at the date / mintmark position. I don't believe this one is RPM008. The best placement I could find was Wexler 013. I copied Wexler's photo to overlay. The coin is Not Wexler 013 either. See overlay - the 85 of the date I used to center your coin and adjusted the size to 1200px X 900px. then overlayed the photo's. I'm not sure paint.net does that good of a job of flattening the photo's to overlay. These types of RPM's I'm not a fan of. I was told a long time ago that most of these verticle bars near the primary bar were just the edge of the mintmark punch. In other words - not an RPM. Wexler_W013_Image_With_MintError's.jpg

Okie Dokie. Like I said, I personally am not a big fan of zinc cents. I will toss this one back into a box, bring it to the storage locker later and let Fate decide its fate.

That vertical bar in the loop of the primary D looks incused under the microscope. But, when I looked at the largest photo I offered of the D, it had that 008 look.

The guy who previously own this collection did have a few handfuls of varieties that were labeled and I questioned whether it was an RPM or doubled die. In my opinion, he probably just eye-balled each, probably did not do an overlay and moved on. A lot of times he is correct, some times, not so much.

I posted this one late, did not attempt to add the full obverse and reverse. I was up late tending to another project. For me, this will be one lazy and relaxing day.

Thanks for doing the overlay. I appreciate your time and efforts.
