CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Is this MD in the rays and LIBERTY?
The "L" looks like it might have a split sherif.

I am not feeling the best, so i will offer this:

Check VAMWORLD.com to see if the rays have anything to do with any VAM.
If you think it does check for markers/pick up points.
Pay very close attention to what any photos show. I will add that the website might tell you the die state for the photos, but its uncommon. It may help attribute the coin. View the side where any such doubling may occur and see if it matches on the exact same rays in the same direction.

Sure, this could be worthless damage as well, but it does not hurt to ensure its not something else.

The Peace Dollar is not a design that i liked, so I decided not to collect them. I think i have owned two over the past 4 decades. I still got one of them in the bottom of a safe in storage.

Hopefully you find a match on vamworld.

I looked at the LI in LIBERRY and they look lower, almost step like. Its pretty evident at base of letters.
