I hope I'm getting better at lighting too.....cause I'm really trying to make it look like it's in your hand and I purposely turned the one photo to see the edge better also so that different angles can be seen as if you were turning it yourself in the light. (so how did I do?)

Am I seeing things or is that a split in the lower sherif along with a possible doubling or even tripling of the "D" because it's looking a little on the fat side.

In my opinion, I have looked at the photos and although the lighting is better some of the vital photos are a tad blurry. When I open the second photo, the one of just the mintmark, its blurry as is. This means I cannot zoom in effectively and try to determine what is going on.
It is vital to have a photo which has a good amount of lighting on the vertical bar and both top and bottom serifs. I have two desk lamps i bought from lowes that i can slde across the table to achieve the lighting i need. I diffuse them with white sheer fabric if needed. I then remove the fabric pronto to avoid any fire issues.
I looked at varietyvista and coppercoins and I did not see a solid match.
Looking at the mintmark, its tough to see if that is a split serif or are there small bumps on the mintmark.
Lighting for me is the number one pain in taking photos, even after many years of doing this hobby. Each coin is different. I find myself using lower light levels to bring out the best of the photos. But I have to be careful not to go too low, as people do customize their monitors/phones/tablets and I dont want it to be too dark.
I suggest adding a clear photo of the mintmark, the best that you can get. It doesnt have to be super close, as the camera will blur the image if it is too close. Most phones do not have a macro setting, but some cameras do. It is usually represented by a flower style icon. That macro setting may allow clser photos with minimumal blur.
If you would like to review a post on how to get some clear photos using a cell phone, there is a post here:

Yes a little better. I am not in the office for a few days. It will be the evening on saturday when i should be able to see if the editing software can bring out the best focus possible.
I am trying to determine if the hole of the mintmark, to the east is related to the vetical bar. I need to create an overlay. This would allow me to see the potential of more than one D on top of each other.Gary Kozera
