CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    1939 P D004 Jefferson

Please review the attached photos where I make the case to match this coin to the VV D-004 Jefferson nickel. I believe I have a good match to the VV photos for the; "E PLU" in E Pluribus, "ELLO" in Montecello, "ED" in United, and "MER" in America. Thoungts from the advanced folks? 1939 P d004 3.jpg 1939 P d004 4.jpg 1939 P d004 2.jpg 1939 P d004 1.jpg

Ron, I'm sorry but from the photo's: that looks like a very worn out die with MD.
I don't see any true seperated serifs like the bottoms of the letter's in Dr. Wiles's photo's. They are dark in alot of them but I can barely see what he is describing.
    Sorry, Eric
